He will represent the interests of ESOPs and The ESOP Association at the hearing.

Today, President Biden announced strict new mandates from the federal government requiring more than 100 million Americans to be vaccinated or tested weekly for COVID-19. These requirements will impact ESOP companies with more than 100 employees, health care ESOP companies including but not limited to hospitals, dialysis facilities, ambulatory surgical settings, and home health agencies, and ESOPs with government contracts.

An Initial Look at President Biden’s Proposals  
Wednesday, President Biden introduced the nation to his American Jobs Plan and Made in America Tax Plan -- plans that seek to alter the federal tax structure, boost America’s infrastructure, and address issues related to families. We have conducted an initial review of these proposals, specifically the tax changes, to consider their effects on the ESOP community. Below are some observations on how these proposed changes, as currently presented, may affect ESOPs.

Freshman members are important targets for outreach because they may or may not know about ESOPs and Employee Ownership.

WASHINGTON – The Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service issued guidance today allowing deductions for the payments of eligible expenses when such payments would result (or be expected to result) in the forgiveness of a loan (covered loan) under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
