Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) is the latest Senator to publicly support ESOPs by agreeing to co-sponsor S. 177 - joining 27 of her colleagues.

Senator Deb Fischer (R-NE) is the latest Senator to publicly support ESOPs by agreeing to co-sponsor S. 177 The Promotion and Expansion of Private Employee Ownership Act of 2019. 

The legislation includes provisions that seek to:

  • Expand financing opportunities for S Corporation ESOPs.
  • Provide technical assistance for companies that may be interested in forming an S Corporation ESOP.
  • Ensure that small businesses that become ESOPs retain their Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) preference when competing for government contracts at all levels.
