September 30, 2010 (Washington, DC) – At the September 29, 2010 town hall meeting held in Richmond, VA, President Obama responded to a question about employee-owned companies asked by ESOP Association member Tom Roback, Managing Director of Blue Ridge ESOP Associates located in Charlottesville, VA.

“We are pleased that President Obama was open to hearing more about ESOP (employee stock ownership plan) companies,” stated ESOP Association President J. Michael Keeling.  “We would be happy to work with the Administration to enhance and encourage employee ownership in the U.S.  ESOPs have a long and overwhelmingly positive history of keeping jobs in the U.S., in local communities, and offer significant retirement benefits to employee owners.”
