Congress Takes First Formal Steps on FY2024 Spending; Senate Appropriators Specifically Direct Employee Ownership Provisions Mandated by WORK Act
On a very strong 24-2 bipartisan vote, the Senate Appropriations Committee has passed the Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill for the 2024 Fiscal Year that begins October 1. As one of 12 annual spending bills Congress must pass before the end of September, this is the initial step in funding the U.S. Department of Labor for the next year.

Companies, Employees Share Benefits of Strong Performance
The results of this year's Economic Performance Survey (EPS) show that, once again, companies belonging to the ESOP Association have experienced positive corporate performance.
Just as importantly, the EPS once again shows that when companies perform well, employee owners share in the rewards. This year, new data reveal a new facet of how ESOP (employee stock ownership plan) companies distribute those rewards.
