Our Mission

The ESOP Association is dedicated to educating our members and the American public about employee ownership and to advocating the growth of employee ownership with emphasis on ESOPs. To meet our mission we focus on six core elements:

Networking Opportunities:

No one can educate you more about making employee ownership work for you and your company than your peers who have "real-world" experience managing and working in an employee-owned company. By joining The ESOP Association, opportunities to participate in activities designed to maximize the benefits of employee ownership and gain vital knowledge are numerous. Local Chapters: Your local chapter holds easy-to-get-to, and affordable, meetings throughout the year, where you will network with your counterparts.

Two Day Technical Conference: The only annual conference in America dedicated to the unique operations of an employee-owned company.

Communications Seminar: Attendees learn and experience how to put employee ownership communications into action.

Employee Owner Retreat: Provides employee owners the opportunity to learn what employee ownership can mean for them.

ESOP S Corp Seminar: Provides S corporations with an ESOP, or those considering an ESOP, the knowledge and information needed for successful ESOP implementation.

Building Tools
To meet the employee ownership market's demand for tools to help in the communication process, the Association has developed high quality, professional materials.

The Publications & Products Department is ready to assist you by providing members with professional videos, brochures, pamphlets, and ownership building products.

News & Information
Another benefit of membership is the delivery of the latest employee-ownership news through the monthly ESOP Report. This highly acclaimed newsletter provides hot-off-the-press employee-ownership law and regulation changes, company profiles, communication ideas and programs, operational and managerial practices, and much more.

Technical Services
The ESOP Association provides its members with quick answers to technical questions involving employee-ownership operations and management issues. While not serving as a substitute for the competent and necessary professionals specializing in employee ownership creation and operation, the Association has on staff persons knowledgeable about employee ownership, plus numerous technical publications.

The technical staff also provides members with a referral service, a complimentary membership directory when you join, and easy-access to a list of professional members through our Website.

Government Relations
The latest news you need to ensure that your ESOP and employee ownership will continue to be favored by law and regulations is in your hands within hours because of your membership. And, the Association's volunteers, with the Association staff that has 30 years of government relations experience, works with you and your fellow association members to persuade decision makers in Congress, in the regulatory agencies, and in the White House to take pro-employee ownership steps.

Media & Research Services
The ESOP Association's Media Department stands ready to help each member with their media needs. The Department works with members on getting media placement, working with reporters, writing press releases, and even helps with internal communications such as the employee ownership-related company newsletter or brochure. The Association also maintains a wealth of statistical data for members to plug into their communications, showing participants and the media how your employee ownership stacks up and why it's worth their interest.
