May 13, 2008 (Washington, DC) – Cindy Turcot, Chief Operating Officer of Gardener’s Supply Company in Burlington, Vermont, has been named the 2008 Outstanding Board of Governors Member by The ESOP Association. The award was presented at the Association’s 31st Annual Conference in Washington, DC. The ESOP Association is the national trade association for companies with employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) and the leading voice in America for employee ownership.
Ms. Turcot has been an active volunteer with The ESOP Association for almost 18 years serving in numerous leadership capacities over the years. She is the current President of the New England Chapter of the Association, a member of the Board of Governors, as well as, a one time member of the Board of Directors. She has been a staunch volunteer lobbyist for ESOPs and employee ownership no matter what her role in the Association and is a supporter and current Trustee of the Employee Ownership Foundation, the Association’s 501 (c)(3) affiliated foundation dedicating to promoting employee ownership.
“Cindy has always been an enthusiastic supporter of the Association and has certainly gone above and beyond in her duties as a member of the Association’s Board of Governors,” said J. Michael Keeling, President of The ESOP Association. “She has led her Chapter in outstanding government relations work to advance the cause of employee ownership and to make sure that ESOPs are not harmed in the legislative process. She is an amazing example to all of us in this community.”
