January 7 , 2008 (Washington, DC) –In 2008, The ESOP Association will celebrate its 30th Anniversary helping create better and stronger employee owned companies and spreading the message of employee ownership in America.
“Thirty years of successful operations as the primary advocate for employee ownership through the ESOP model is a tribute – a tribute to the hundreds of men and women volunteer ESOP advocates who have dedicated hundreds of hours to make America better,” said J. Michael Keeling, President of The ESOP Association. “Employee ownership cynics have always underestimated the power of ownership, and miscalculate the deep passion these men and women bring to our national discussion about what is fair and equitable.”
Always controlled by its volunteer ESOP company leaders, The ESOP Association has a 30 year record of membership and growth. Starting with less than 200 members, and a few thousand dollars in revenue, The ESOP Association now has over 2,500 members, and the gross revenue of the Association and its affiliate, the Employee Ownership Foundation, was approximately $4.5 million in 2007.

The core cause of The ESOP Association is the belief that employee ownership will improve American competitiveness, increase productivity through greater employee participation, and strengthen our free enterprise economy.
