The Pension Coalition: Advancing retirement security through voluntary employer-sponsored plans.

The Pension Coalition includes employers, service providers, and trade associations concerned about the private retirement plan system. The employer community now voluntarily provides and administers over 29,000 single employer defined benefit plans – covering 34.5 million workers and retirees and paying over $120 billion in benefits annually; over 1,500 multiemployer plans – covering over 9.7 million workers and retirees; and over 800,000 defined contribution plans – covering over 60 million workers and retirees. The preservation and encouragement of voluntary employer-sponsored plans are critical to the advancement of retirement security, capital formation, and job creation.

The coalition covers a broad range of retirement issues including single employer and multiple employer pension funding reform, hybrid plans, multiemployer plans, defined contribution plans and pension accounting.
